Estremoz liegt etwa in der Mitte von Portugal und ist eine kleine Stadt mit etwa zehntausend Einwohnern. Die Häuser sind um das Schloss angeordnet, welches auf einem recht steilen Hügel steht. Die Stadt ist recht bekannt für den Marmor. Insbesondere der pinkfarbene hat für hohe Berühmtheit und auch Nachfrage gesorgt. In der Region gibt es soviel Marmor, dass man den Stein für jegliche Arbeiten verwendet. Insgesamt werden etwa 370.000 Tonnen pro Jahr produziert. Das ist ein Großteil der portugiesischen Förderung.

Zu dem auf der Karte abgebildeten Tor werden leider keine weiteren Angaben gemacht. Sollte jemand von euch näheres wissen, freue ich mich über Hinweise.
