Nach langer Zeit erreichte mich heute wieder eine Postkarte. Sie stammt aus der Hauptstadt des US-Bundesstaates Virginia, Richmond. Auf der Karte ist notiert, dass Virginia die erste Stadt im Lande war, die elektrische Straßenbahnen erhielt. Dies geschah im Jahre 1888. Kurze Zeit später tauchte dann das erste Auto auf den Straßen auf. Heute sind nach Angaben auf der Karte über 400.000 Autos in der Stadt und dem näheren Umland registiert.
